Ever since the adjacent land of the former short course was sold for housing many years ago, the proximity of the existing houses on the right of the former Par 4 hole, plus the severity of its dogleg around the houses, plus the relationship of the green to both the 12th and 16th tees have created issues for the club. The design of the new par 5 eliminates these issues. It plays slightly uphill to a natural green site beautifully framed by large African trees on the right. With an existing stream on the left off the tee and an existing lake to cross on the second shot, this strong par 5 now balances the nines and allows the course to once again play to a par 72 for the members.
